The E182CC is an ultra high grade variant of the E82CC which was itself a special quality version of the ECC82. The E182CC was designed with very large and rigid box anodes which were close tolerance matched to provide supreme anti-microphonic performance.  

Designed as AF voltage amplifiers, two independent matched valves exist in the envelope. An amplification factor of 24 is quoted. The operating conditions, performance and pin connections differ from the ECC82. The thin glass tube envelope is of approximately 20 mm in diameter and the length excluding the B9A base pins, is approximately 50 mm.


Many users prefer these valves to the standard ECC82 and change pin connections to allow their use accordingly.  Such modern exotica as the following use this beautiful dual triode:-

On offer today we have a beautiful box anode Mullard E182CC. This device carries near perfect 'old shield' print in white ink. All pins are bright and corrosion free. This device is used, ex equipment but has been tested using my AVO VCM 163 valve tester and as you can see from the test data presented below, it gives data for anode current, Ia and mutual conductance gm that exceeds nominal Mullard 100% emission spec:- Section 1: Ia = 60 mA; gm = 17.5 mA/V Section 2: Ia = 60 mA; gm = 17.5 mA/V The specification for a new/100% emission valve is: Ia =36mA; gm = 15mA/V As you can see, these results show a strong device with extremely good matching of each triode section within each valve envelope.
