A. W. Stapleton Loriostat Rheostat boxed from 1927

A beautifully made baseboard mounting filament rheostat. The one pictured and on offer here today is a sixe-way device that allowed six valve filaments to be independently adjusted by moving the slider knobs up and down the wire-wound cylinders thereby altering the tapping point from a nominal value of 15 ohms.

The Loriostat was available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6-way variants with resistance values of 6, 15 or 30 ohms.
